This weekend I had the pleasure of attending a screening of Eli Ungar-Sargon’s documentary Cut: Slicing Through the Myths of Circumcision in San Francisco. The event was hosted by the Bay Area Intactivists and event organizer Jonathon Conte did a wonderful job putting it all together.
The screening was well attended. It was great to finally meet in person the filmmaker and his lovely wife Pennie, along with others I have connected with during my time hosting Beyond the Bris, including author Lisa Braver Moss and Jewish anti-circumcision activists Tina Kimmel and Brian Levitt, among many others. Prior to this event, I last saw my good friend Dr. Mark Reiss in Seattle at the NOCIRC conference there about six years ago, so it was really fantastic to be able to meet up with him. It’s my understanding that the panel discussion after the film will eventually be included on the filmmaker's podcast series, The Cut Podcast. David Wilton, who runs the excellent site, kindly shared the above photo.
